we recommend columbo BUT beware of falling rocks

we love santorini more than any place in the world..that is why we keep coming back for the last 15 years. we wil be back in two weeks again. but last year we had an experience that we learned from. we were at the columbo beach and had put our towels right under the cliff to have some shade. thank god we were just getting up to go into the water, because suddenly without warning about 3 cubic meters of rock fell right on top of us. there were huge rocks amongst them. one of us was hit in the back and knocked down by a large rock and had to go to the hospital..but besides a very bruised and stiff back and some physical therapy it seemed to turn out ok. we lost our camera and some other stuff. but the beach is breathtakingly beautiful. and very untouristy....Just beware of the cliff and don't sit or lay directly under it.
