Wonderful time in Santorini

Santorini Review:
I was in Santorini a few months ago (snif) and I had a wonderful time. It was the first time I saw and visited a volcano and it was an experience I will never forget. You go there by small boat and you can swim in the hot waters surrounding the volcano. The landscape on the volcano is really amazing; it is made of strange black, red and yellow stones; sometimes you can see fume coming out of some small holes and tiny craters.
I also visited Akrotiri were you can see a Minoan town which was destroyed during the eruption of the volcano (in 1500 BC); it was covered by lava and it is very well preserved; you can see the architecture of that time and admire the grandeur of the Minoan civilisation; very interesting.
I also visited the superb archaeological museum of Santorini which is located in Thira; it is very well done and has numerous interesting findings. The old Thira is also interesting; it is a ruined village which was the old capital of the island. The small village of Finikia is also a must; it is close to Oia but, I don?t know why, it is unknown by most of the tourists. It is a lovely settlement mostly in ruins but a hotel is located there.
In resume, Santorini is a beautiful and very interesting place where it is sure you will have a great time. No wonder is so popular and gets so crowded during summer; that is why I recommend everyone to visit it.
