The trip: We came with a group to Athens and then by plane to Mykonos and then Santorini. The trip was really nice. The people of the group and the organisers very kind and helpfull.
Reasons for going to Santorini: It was part of the tour in Greece and Mykonos and Santorini are famous for beeing one of the most beautiful islands of Europe.
Idea before arriving: Only from what we saw in the brochures before booking the trip. Impressive scenery with white villages perched on the top of cliffs, long beaches, sunsets, donkeys and cats.
Expectations and opinions: Yes, it met our expectations. Santorini is really beautiful and very different from Mykonos. It is a very picturesque island and really loved it. We were in a great hotel and to be honest passed most of our time relaxing by the pool. The hotel had a incredible view... really great!
Favorite thing about Santorini: We enjoyed much walking in the alleys of the villages. There is much to see and to shoot. Great shapes, picturesque houses, many cats. The food was also very good. The sunset there is really amazing especially in Oia. We enjoyed it much and there is a great cafe there, in an old windmill which must have one of the best views. The area of Kastro was always overcrowded.
Negative opinion: The taste of the water when brushing teeth.
Recommendations: Sunset in Oia. A must!
We will love to go and visit Santorini again. But next time we must be less lazy and spend less hours by the pool and more hours visiting the island and the archaeological sites.
