The trip: I arrived in Greece by plane to Athens and then with the High Speed boat to reach Santorini Island. The weather was very bad and the trip was unpleasant. But we finaly arrived!
Reasons for going to Santorini: It is not the first time that I go to Santorini. I have family here that own a house and the give the keys.
Idea before arriving: The first time I came I was expecting beautiful sceneries, relax atmosphere, walks in the villages perched on the caldera, good food and beaches.
Expectations and opinions: It met my expectations concerning the beauty of the landscapes and the villages. I was a little disapointed by the beaches. Not that bad but not the kind of beaches I was expecting to find in Greece. I was also disapointed by the prices. Crazy people. A coke costs as much in Santorini than on the Champs Elysees street of Paris!!! It is crazy. The local people are not so authentic. They are business mans that are mostly interested by $$$
Favorite thing about Santorini: The villages and the views from there (Oia in particular) and the many museums and sites
Negative opinion: Expensive, too much people and traffic, too much umbrellas on the beaches.
Recommendations: Visit the island in low season!
yes, of course I will go to Santorini again. And to other places in Greece also.
