The trip: A arrived at Athens, Greece by plane and then took the boat to Santorini island. The flight was fine but it was too windy during the boat trip. Wasn't so nice.
Reasons for going to Santorini: I wanted to visit this famous island because so friends I really trust suggested me.
Idea before arriving: That Santorini would have nice views, the Cycladic traditional architecture, nice clear beaches, good food and a good nightlife.
Expectations and opinions: It met my expectations and more. It was my first time in Greece and was really impressed by the cosy ambiance and the tranquility. The Greek islands are really safe when you know the number of people that lives on the island. Not the locals but the tourists.
Everybody has to visit Santorini. The beaches are not like the paradisiacal cliche but are fine. The food is excellent and the people really friendly. The scenery is amazing there and a unique experience.
Favorite thing about Santorini: The village of Oia, its cosy cafe and restaurants with direct view on the sunset.
Negative opinion: It is really windy or maybe I wasn't lucky during my holiday period.
Recommendations: Come on low season!
I would love to go to Santorini again. I don'y know when as I want to visit other islands now!!!
