Once more, the wines of Santorini were given many prominences in the 9th International Wine Competition that took place in the beginning of March in Thessaloniki, Northern Greece. In particular, the Vinsanto 4 years aging (Vintage 2003) of the Association of Santorini Products was given the gold prize among 812 wines from Bulgaria, Brazil, France, Greece, Italy, Spain, Cyprus, Romania and Slovakia.
This competition is the only international wine competition that is held in Greece with the contribution of the International Office of Vine and Wine. Such an eminence proves the high quality of Santorinian wines that are cultuvated on the island since the ancient times.
