The folder for the construction of the roof in the archaeological site of Akrotiri on
Santorini is finally ready and it will be sent next week in the Urban Authority of Santorini. It includes the plans for the replacement of the roof that covered the site of the Minoan town Akrotiri, which had collapsed in September 2005 and had killed one person.
As the Greek Ministry of Culture announced, these plans pay extra attention on the issue of secutiry with metal supporting systems, so that such a problem will not come up again in the future. The project needs about 18 months to be completed and till then, the site will be closed for the public.
