The airport of Santorini is found 8 km far from Fira, the capital of the island. Santorini airport receives both domestic flights from Athens and Thessaloniki and charter flights from abroad.
Travel there - Ferries
Most of the people go to Santorini by ferry. The trip by ferry takes longer than the plane but progress has been done in recent years to improve the itineraries. Now Santorini can be reached in about 5 hours from Piraeus.
Ferries to Santorini leave from the port of Piraeus, to the south of Athens. The port of Piraeus is connected to the Athens International Airport by regular buses and the subway.
There are also ferries and hydrofoils that connect Santorini and other Aegean islands.
