Gods Garden in Santorini
God's Garden is a lovely garden restaurant with its verdant outdoors creating a peaceful atmosphere of natural beauty that offers a change from the usual seaside or beachfront taverns. The restaurant is tucked away in a quiet area just off the main road of Perissa. It can be reached by taking a turn on the main street and following the sign.
The quaint looking eatery serves wholesome traditional fare. There is a lounge area where guests can wait for a table to become free while enjoying a pre-dinner drink. The lounge doubles up as an extended dining area to accommodate the spillover guests in high season.
The standard menu comprises mainly of traditional Greek fare such as oven cooked lamb dishes and rabbit stew and a variety of seafood dishes. Besides the a la carte menu, the restaurant offers set menus for two and singles, and these are pretty popular as they are quite economical. A "Vlahiko for 2" is a substantial meal comprising a very big piece of lamb and baked potatoes cooked all day in slow fire in the oven.
There is another set meal on offer comprising lamb kleftiko (a baked dish of lamb, potato and tomato flavored with oregano, olive oil and feta cheese) with Greek salad and wine. To round off the meal, there are the all time favorite desserts of Greek yoghurt and honey laced with cinnamon. The quaint eatery is just a stone throw away from the main shopping area in Perissa.
