Saltsa in Santorini
Saltsa Restaurant is located outside Fira town on the main road to Imerovigli. Famous for its delicious sauces and the tasty Greek dishes, the restaurant is set in a garden of olive trees and aromatic herbs with a charming balcony paved with old tiles. Dimitris Lazarou is the owner of Salsa and he has several years of experience in the kitchens of some of the best restaurants in Athens (Varoulko, Aristera-Deksia) and Santorini (Tsitouras, Katoikies).
Salsa Restaurant was created after long years of experimenting with traditional Greek cuisine and a deep-rooted passion for cooking.
Daphne Kalogianni is credited with the design and decoration of Salsa. She worked closely with Lilian, wife of Dimitris, to transform the balcony into a charming place where one can enjoy a simple Greek meal in a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere. With candle lighting, soft music, mismatched chairs and old rustic-style tables, the restaurant has a truly charming appeal and gives nice views.
Salsa has a terrace for outdoor dining, which is used when the weather is pleasant. The menu at Salsa is frequently altered and innovative touches to many of the local dishes have helped the restaurant to evolve continually and produce its own authentic creations of the classic Greek dishes that have won the praise of both locals and tourists over the years. From the stove to the table, all activities at Saltsa are carefully supervised by Dimitris. From simple meals to exotic main courses and rich desserts, the restaurant has menus to suit every budget.
The restaurant is a "slow food" kind of a place and is more suited for those who want to have a pleasant, relaxing meal.
