General Information:
The Flame of the Volcano is located on the main street of the caldera, in Fira, the capital of Santorini. It is the last of the claldera-side restaurants on the northern side and it is beyond the cable car station, on the way to Firostefani. Owned by a multi linguist owner, Raymond (he speaks French, English, German, some Chinese, and of course, Greek), guests are made to feel completely at home here. The food is good and so is the service. The cuisine is traditional Greek. The Chicken a la Grec, as well as a wide choice of fresh salads are popular and tasty and the pricing is not too high. The restaurant serves an astounding selection of traditional hors d'oeuvres, and this could actually double up as a full meal. The local house wine, both white and red, come off a barrel and they are a must try. To round off the meal, there is a fine selection of desserts, like the baklava, and coffees. The pricing is moderate, and on par with similar restaurants in the area. The highpoint: the owner hands out binoculars to the diners for a fantastic view of the bay.
