Anna George in Paros
The Anna and George tavern is located on the way from Marpissa to Logaras, one of the most beautiful beaches on Paros. The tavern has been in business for more than a decade and gets pretty popular with locals and tourists. A family-run eatery, the tavern serves tasty Greek meals at reasonable prices and the ambience is beautiful. Trellis architecture on the ceiling overhung by vines and wooden chairs and tables covered with charming checkered table cloth complete the picture-perfect scene. The tavern serves some amazing appetizers and the meat dishes in particular are reputed to be some of the tastiest on Paros. The meat plate focuses on lamb and veal dishes that have been prepared using traditional recipes. The shanks in lemon sauce, freshly roasted steaks, burgers, sausages and succulent lamb chops are few of the favorite dishes at the tavern. Contrary to popular belief, traditional Greek cuisine is not all about meat dishes. A variety of vegetarian dishes prepared from locally grown vegetables is also very much a part of classical Greek cuisine. Anna and George also offer a wide choice for the vegetarian palate. Exotic salads prepared from fresh island-grown vegetables and tomato-based dishes top the list of popular items on the vegetarian menu. The tavern also offers a fine selection of wines that come from the famous winery at Naoussa and guests can choose from a variety of red, white and rose wines to complement the traditional dishes at Anna and George’s. Being a small joint, service is pretty quick and efficient, as is the case in many of the seaside taverns. The tavern is open all day long. The tavern also caters to private parties and receptions.
