Naxos: Grotta Naxos

Grotta Naxos: Grotta is actually a neighbourhood of Naxos Town. It is located on the northern side of the town, in a walking distance from Kastro and the port. Also the location of Grotta gives a good view of Portara and the Aegean Sea. All the buildings in Grotta are hotels and rooms to let, providing a comfortable and close accommodation to Chora, the capital of Naxos.

The beach in front of Grotta is not actually a place to swim. As it is very rocky and frequently affected by strong summer winds, this is a good place to go for snorkelling rather than swimming. Also in summer some urchins find shelter among the rocks making it a bit dangerous. The good thing is that Grotta is close to public transport that goes to villages and beaches around the island.
