Reviews about Mykonos, Cyclades, Greece |
I have travelled for 12 years (5 yrs on ships) and I have seen close to 100 countries, but the Greek islands especially Mykonos cater for tourism and at the same time have managed to keep their identity. Mykonos has the perfect balance of all things for a holiday. Perfect beaches -the northern ones... More >
In my opinion, people living in Mykonos are very polite, don't steal, cook good dishes and have very clean areas. And Mykonos lives all day and everyday. I am Turkish and I love Greek food and alcohols. Also tavernas all around the island are excellent. You can stay all night long there. I was... More >
Most people we spoke to agreed that staying at a family beach like Platis Yialos was best, because it was calm and quite during the day. It is easy for the young set to get to Mykonos Town or Paradise Beach for the evening clubs, and relax during the day. For young adults traveling there,... More >
Food was acceptable. Kosmoplaz had a very acceptable breakfast included. The other beach front restaurants were acceptable, but not great. NOTE: you need to rent beach chairs on the beach, (which is controlled by the restaurants on the beach), 10 euro for 2 chairs plus umbrella, but then you... More >
If you are a family, stay at one of the beaches. Try to get a hotel on the beach. Mykonos is hilly, and your hotel, just 200 m from the beach, could be 200m almost straight up a hill. Kosmoplaz Hotel was on the beach with really pleasant and helpful staff. The rooms were clean, the a/c worked... More >

It was about 10 euro to Platis Yialos (also known as Platis Gialos). Taxi driver had a card with the prices to different parts of town with him. It looked like... More >
Mykonos is known to Greek people as the party island. It's where they go to have a Mardi Gras experience. The main town is a cluster of tiny shops and winding streets and it's easy to get lost, which is part of the fun. The restaurants and hotels are more expensive than other islands, but it it's... Our travel was a mix of work and vacation. My fiance attended a conference, and I followed because I've been to Greece many times before and like it very much. We got to Greece from Sweden by plane and then took a speed boat from the port of Rafina to Mykonos. I had a good trip, but the crew on... More >

I arrived on the island by boat with the Blue Star Ferries. The trip was very good with no delays. Definitely worth getting the speed boats as they are reliable. The slower ferries are always delayed!
