Mykonos is not really an island for my taste but my friends insisted that we should at least visit once.

I have to admit that Chora was really impressive. We found a room in like 20 minutes as soon as we reached the port, and our tour in the whitewashed island began. Locals and tourists walking the narrow alleys, families preparing for their morning swim, a pleasant atmosphere in general, a typical day in a Greek island.

After eating a rich breakfast, a quick coffee and we were already at the beach of Platis Gialos. It is fully organized the waters were so calm and clean that day, but very crowded. Some nice bars that we met on our way to the hotel were actually quite nice with excellent drinks and cocktails. We spend the rest of the days enjoying the local cuisine, sunbathing for hours at the nearby beaches and dancing at the lively bars of Mykonos.

The most famous neighborhood of the island is Little Venice and if you asked me I would gladly live there one day. The entire quarter is full of Venetian two storey houses with nice balconies literally hanging over the sea. Some great cafeterias and bars, it is the perfect romantic night away!

Imagine you and your friends in Mykonos in the middle of August. We chose Mykonos at the last minute due to last minute air tickets and I was so worried because we hadn't booked any hotel. We arrived at the island and after a couple of hours searching, we were lucky to find a traditional room at the centre of the town, in a great location close to Little Venice. The island was so loud with nonstop parties at the beaches in the day and at the bars in the night. Apart from the fact that Mykonos is a party island, I didn't really care to find out more.

We stayed for five days in Mykonos and it was fantastic, especially the beaches, you won't get disappointed. Lia beach is highly recommended, Paradise and Psarou are very nice. Locals treated us with respect and great hospitality. We did experience some humorous situations but it was fun. I wasn't offended by this floppy atmosphere, in fact i found it very amusing.

I visited Mykonos four years ago with four of my colleagues. We didn't really visit this island for the crazy parties and the clubs. In contrast to the wild atmosphere, the island revealed so much more, it offers numerous sightseeings. We visited the high season and it was so difficult to find a room in the town. We stayed in Agios Stefanos, a beautiful village close to Chora. Nearby there is a quiet sandy beach and beautiful taverns.

Chora is beautiful and above all you should go to Little Venice, an enchanting area with two-storey buildings, hanging balconies and lovely terraces. You will find many bars there. Also do not miss the sunset from the windmills, it is gorgeous. In Mykonos, you can do many things, people there are very friendly and easy to talk to. I guess because all want to holidays to relax, but the locals are nice too. Take a stroll around the waterfront or ride your bike around the island. Alegro is a great place for food in Chora. My favourite beaches were Lia and Super Paradise.

We went in Mykonos in May 2011. Many greeks told me that Mykonos is usualy too crowded, expensive and people overwelmed by tourist. Actually we spent a wonderful week! Tourists are present, but to a reasonnable level, people are friendly, weather was great, very nice period to make good photos with a clean and pleasent light. Last but not least, prices for that period are good, and we could rent a room at a luxury hotel at a very good rate.

Mykonos is definitely a party island but for those looking beyond this, it can easily be considered one of the most magnificent islands in Greece. The cosmopolitan and luxurious aspect of Mykonos is what most people know. However, those who want to explore the island, should come during the spring time or at the end of the summer, late September.

Chora is the most intriguing location of Mykonos. It combines both traditional and modern elements, the island has been hugely developed with numerous boutique shops and everything you can find at a city center. The most beautiful part of the island is the area called Little Venice, consisting of two-storey colorful houses, one close to the another with great balconies and terraces. This is where most popular bars exist. The sunset from the windmills is even more impressive that Santorini's (at least it seemed like that to me), the pelican is a funny mascot and the fishing boats at the old port have a pretty charm.

Do not stick to the usual. If you have time, rent a bike and see. See the lighthouse at the far north, see the artificial lake that gives water to the island, see the horseriding centre and ride to the sun, light a candle in the small churches of the countryside, wave at the old men that set all day at the cafeneion and watch who is passing by. Lay on the beach and listen to the wind, while the sea gulls are singing above your head.

My favourite time in Mykonos is spring. In September, there is a heavy atmosphere ahead winter, but in spring it is easier to see people smiling and the sun seems brighter.

I spent only one night in Mykonos but it was a fabulous night. My sister, my good friend and I all had a wonderful time. We went to so many places. Scandanavian Bar, Mykonos Bar, Argo Bar and Space Nightclub were our favorites. The island is filled with young social people from all over the world. Everyone is friendly and fun.

Going to Mykonos was the best thing that happened to me this past summer. Normally, I don't go to such cosmopolitan places, however on this island I enjoyed the young crowds and the exotic drinks. Chora was extremely crowded, I went during the month of August where there are massive tourists. I recommend you visit Firostefani, one of the best villages of Mykonos. We ate in some of the greatest taverns there, with traditional Greek food and local treats.

We didn't spend so much time in clubs and parties, except from one party we attended in Super Paradise beach. In contrary, most of the days we visited interesting spots like the windmills and the little neighborhood in Chora known as Little Venice. You should not miss this one. Also, I enjoyed very much the small churches of the island, so different from the large cathedrals of Europe. In Mykonos, you will find a great number of local shops with gifts and souvenirs in good prices. The blue waters of Mykonos have remained unforgettable. I personally loved Platis Gialos and Lia.

Mykonos is really a fabulous island. Just a short note to say that if you plan to visit, make sure to get there before the end of August. The first time I went, I didn't get to see all the parties. Most of the beach clubs were closed and the tourists were gone. However, the second time I got to see much more of this island.

I spend 10 days in Mykonos, basically more than I expected because I didn't want to leave. I stayed in Chora, in a beautiful studio. The people were so friendly and kind and I actually made some good friends there. I visited most of the beaches like Paradise, Psarrou, Platis Gialos and Super Paradise and the feeling was great!

Mykonos is known for the parties and the crazy nightlife, so I hit the hot spots of the island from day one. Don't forget to have a drink in Cavo Paradiso and La Notte, two of the best clubs of the island. I had the best time in the parties of Super Paradise, we danced and drunk till the next morning. The last two days I was so exhausted, I could barely leave the room to go for a walk.

My only trip to Mykonos was five years ago. I can't say that I had the time of my life but I enjoyed the whole party atmosphere. I visited my friend there and got to stay for 4 days.

One thing I really enjoyed was the beaches with those exotic water. More particularly I went to Psarrou, one of the most popular beaches of the island. Elia beach is very beautiful and also Lia became my favorite. Ano Mera made me feel like I was in a different era, the people were so friendly and kind and helped us a lot. So much different from the popular Mykonos Town, like you are in another island.

Although I am not fan of parties myself, I recognize that Mykonos is a paradise for the party animals. It has numerous clubs, some in Chora and some others on the beaches. I liked all this cheerful mood but most of all I focused on the natural beauty of Mykonos.

During the last 7 years I have traveled to Greece more than 5 times. I was lucky enough to visit some of the best Greek islands like Paros, Skopelos, Naxos and some other locations and last year, 6 months ago, I decided to visit Mykonos. We stayed at the town, in a lovely apartment. Throughout the island there are several restaurants and taverns that serve a wide range of their gastronomical delights. Try the traditional Mykonian cheese pies and the great fresh salads. We had our morning coffees in the old coffee shops under the trees in the centre of the village square. Paradise beach, Platis Gialos and Elia are all fantastic with crystal waters and beautiful andscape. As these beaches were very crowded, we found some other in Mykonos, like Agios Sostis and Panormos which are both very quiet spots. There are some places in the island that are worth to visit like the old part of Chora with the beautiful churches. We visited Little Venice with the wooden balconies built over the water. I am sure that these houses have the most amazing view to the sea. It is a very picturesque location with many cafes and bars. We passed from Ano Mera as well, a traditional village with a great monastery.
