 The Cultural and Folklore Association of Women in Mykonos, celebrating the International Day of Woman, is presenting on Saturday, March 7th, the film "The Duchess" (2008). The film will be shown in Grypario Cultural Centre at 8.00 p.m. and the entrance will be free.
The film is set in the 18th century. Georgiana Spencer, at the age of 17, is married to the Duke of Devonshire. However, she soon finds her marriage dissapointing , as her husband is unfaithful to her and only married her to have a male heir. Georiana then falls in love with a young upcoming politician and decides to take her life at ther hands. She is involved in politics and becomes the fashion idol of her time.
