Mykonos is a wonderful place both aesthetically and culturally. The beaches are wonderful, the people are very kind, and the nightlife is extremely varied. A whole range of restaurants from traditional to trendy/ contemporary to suit the needs of all. Lots of different bars and clubs to go to and because the island is there for just letting your hair down and having fun the vibe is very electric.
While we were there, it was really windy which I did not expect. Nothing I had read said to expect such strong winds. The beaches were nice, especially the less crowded beaches. We ended up going snorkeling! Restaurants, bars, coffee shops are plentiful. The food is excellent from the kebab/crepes sold on the streets to the trendy restaurants serving things such as sushi. Our favorite was Blue Ginger (I think that is the correct name). It is a chinese/Thai place up above the main part of town. They had great food and an amazing atmosphere. We were there for dinner just in time to see the end of the sunset. I would definately recommend this place. Bars are in abundance so there is something for everyone. Little Venice is a great place to start the night with lots of bars in the areas and if you go before 8pm, you will be able to sit and watch the sunset which is wonderful.
