I am going to Mykonos almost every summer since 2000. If you except expensive food and bad transportation, the rest is a lovely island with much life. Enjoy the beaches, the sun and the dancing! This is Mykonos for!! I prefer Paradise beach from Super Paradise, it is a bit less crowded and it is easier to rent bananas and play summer sports. The clubs around the beaches play music all day and you can hear even if you are far in the sea.
Mykonos is great for partying but also offers more elegant and relaxing environments, especially if you drive north of Chora. Authorities must improve parking conditions. It is embarracing to advertise this island so much and not be able to provide the basic services to the tourists, like parking.
Another problem, as I said, is expensive food. Either you pay an arm and a leg to get good food and service, or the food sucks. If you are Greek, things are easier because you know where to go and what to do, but if you are a new visitor, you may get frustrated a bit. Do not worry, go where most people go if you want to be in crowded places or rent a car and go to the opposite way if you want to be alone! Stay away from tourists who come to have sexual orgies, get drunk and have drugs. Authorities should get rid of them, they are bad for the island! The natural beauty of Mykonos should be more advertised, rather than the sexual orgies!
