Fantastic nightlife in Mykonos Town

The Trip: I arrived on Mykonos island by Plane and Boat with Lufthansa and Sea Jet 2. The trip was very good with no delays. Definitely worth getting the speed boats as they are reliable. The slower ferries are always delayed!
Reasons for going to Mykonos: Recommended by friends
Idea about Mykonos before arriving: Thought it was going to be an over-touristed tacky resort with clubs and bars lining the beaches and towns. Never expected it to be a beautiful, fairly unspoilt island! Mykonos Town is gorgeous and well worth visiting for it's jewelery and clothes shops alone. Lots of designer wear and many fantastic restaurants to suit all wallets. Bars in Little Venice are particularly nice

- Nightlife : 8/10 - Fantastic in Mykonos Town, although in Elia beach where we stayed, the 2 bars/restaurants closed around 9pm! Cabs to Mykonos town around 14 euros.
- Local People : 5/10 We came across many miserable Greeks who never cracked a smile!

- Prices : 8/10 Varies greatly from cheap and cheerful to designer prices!

- Peace and quiet : 10/10
- Weather : 7/10 Was VERY windy in September when we went. But it was still hot.
Opinion about Travel and Transportation:
- General, for travel & transportation : 5/10 From Elia beach you can get a bus (very busy and you're lucky to get on) hourly into town until 7.30pm, after that it's 14 euro cabs.

Opinion about local transportation:
- General, for local transportation : 5/10 Buses very efficient although busy, but getting a cab is a nightmare as they seem to have a massive shortage! Queues from the taxi rank in the square can be hundreds of people long!

Favorite things about the island of Mykonos:
- Best Beaches : Elia - with nudity at the far end away from the bars
- Best Bar/Pub/Club : El Pecado bar/club was good. And Little Venice area for gorgeous views.
