The trip: We arrived on Mykonos Island by ferry and the trip was good. We were on Paros before and the trip was short.
Reasons for going to Mykonos: We had a sailing program in Greece and Mykonos was the last island on the program.
Idea before arriving: We had already seen some islands of the Cyclades and thought that it would be beautiful as the other islands we visited. I was particulary happy to visit an island as famous and cosmopoliten as Mykonos. I found that Paros was very touristy and thought that Mykonos would be less touristy.
Expectations and opinions: Yes, Mykonos met my expactations... like all the island I have visited but it was much more touristy that what I thought. I was a little disapointed from that point of view. But it is really a lovely island. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the beauty of the main town. The local people has really a sense of architecture. The traditional houses are really beautiful and the it is amazing that the modern ones has kept the traditional shapes. There are really beautiful.
Favorite thing about Mykonos: The thing I mostly enjoyed in Mykonos was our trip to the islet of Delos. Really beautiful and interesting. Was the first time in my life I hade some many archaeological things arround me.
Negative opinion: The people. Too much tourists. Too many people on the beaches, too many people on the streets by night, too many people in the restaurants, impossible to get a seat... It is not an island for people who want to be isolated grom the rest of the world.
Recommendations: Just visit it... and have a drink in late afternoon on the Little Venise... really trendy.

Yes, I hope to have a sailing trip in Greece again next summer. Hope that Mykonos will be on the program... hope to have more time to visit more islands.
