The trip: I got to Mykonos Island by boat from Athens using a high speed boat. The trip was very good. There were delays but it was travel agents fault.
Reasons for going to Mykonos: Word of mouth from friends.
Idea before arriving: Only a brief idea by everyone has a different opinion. Difficult to make a general image of the island.
Expectations and opinions: Yes, it exceeded them.
- Island/area: 10/10 The island is fantastic
- Landscapes: 10/10 Postcard scenery
- Tree Covered: 4/10 Didn't see many trees
- Beaches & waters: 10/10 fantastic - You couldn't get any better
- Cleanliness: 6/10 Quiet a bit of rubbish in streets
- Villages: 10/10 Main Town: 10/10 Wonderfull
- Food/ restaurants: 10/10 Great food! Reasonable prices
- Nightlife: -/10 Didn't go out
- Local people: 10/10 So friendly, always willing to help us
- Accommodation: 10/10 Hermes hotel
- Activities 10/10 Excursions 10/10 Sightseeing: 10/10 Delos is a really interesting place to visit. You are impressed with so much history.
- Prices: 8/10 Much cheaper than the rest of Europe but alcohol pricey.
- Public Transportations: 9/10 Always on time
- Authenticity 10/10 It is a touristy island but have kept the authentic architecture.
- Peace & quiet 10/10
- Weather 10/10 A little windy but hot sun
Didn't have enough time here. This place is so great you need at least 3 weeks.
Favorite thing about Mykonos: Everything!! The food, the beaches, the people, the weather...
My favorite beach is Super Paradise, my favorite village is the main town and the best activity we had was visiting Delos and running on the island by scooter. Best restaurant: Marco Polo... Yummy!
Negative opinion: The island needs more credit card facilities and mini markets.
Recommendations: Allow at least 2 weeks to enjoy. There is a great number of beaches for such a small island and it will take you at leats 2 weeks to go on all of them. And in two weeks you will never get bored of the beautiful town.
I would love to go back on the island of Mykonos. I will recommend the island to all my friends.
Rate of the overall quality/organization/services of this island/area in comparison with other countries: 9/10
