A touristy industry but what a great one!

The trip: I arrived on the island of Mykonos by ferry from the port of Rafina. The trip took us 4 hours and it was fine. Really enjoyed my first sunbath sessions...
Reasons for going to Mykonos: Mykonos is a very famous place arround the world. It is famous for its atmosphere, its beaches and the good food and nightlife.
Idea before arriving: That it would be as the many pictures I have seen of the island. Charming villages with many typical churches and windmills. A traditional way of life with fisherman.
Expectations and opinions: It really met my expectations but I thought that the island would be bigger. It is a very small island and that is the good thing about it. You see the same people on the beaches, then walking in the streets of the main village, in the restaurants and bars and restaurants.
It is a really great island. I was just a little disapointed by the fact that everything is organised to the perfection and except from some fishermen there are no much authentic way of life. It is a big touristy indusrty but an excellent one. It is not my first trip to Greece. I went to Zante a few years ago and I thought I really big touristy industry. The difference here is that a great effort and importance is given to keep the traditional architectural aspects and to maintain the beauty and charm. I was really impressed. It is very beautiful and the buildings, small and white re really charming.
Favorite thing about Mykonos: The incredible beaches, of course and the fact that my accommodation was located really near the beach.
Negative opinion: We the amount of money the island must make every summer, they should really make an effort to ameliorate the quality of the roads.
Recommendations: Ensure that accommodation is booked before arrival!
Yes, I will go again to Mykonos, for sure. It is a place were you feel great and very safe. Once there, you don't want to go back home. Greece is beautiful country and worth to be visited.
