Megali Ammos Mykonos: Megali Ammos is the closest beach to Mykonos Town, located within walking distance of 600 meters south. The name Megali Ammos means "big sand" and it is a quiet beach where only few people come, mainly due to the frequent school excursions in this place and the fact that next to the beach there is the central road. The beach has no umbrellas due to the strong winds. It is a good place to relax on the sand or just take a walk along the shore. There are a few hotels and apartments and a small traditional tavern just a few steps from the seashore.
