Experienced another way of life

Hello, my name is Matthew, I am from Alberta, Canada and I am 21 years old. I have visited 15 to 30 countries and this summer I decided to visit the Greek islands. I would like to tell you about my tour by a small ferry to Delos Island which I took from Mykonos Island. This tour is known as one of the top activities of the island and I personally needed the information for my school.
The date of the departure was May 12/06 at 11 AM. The departure point was very easy to find and we left right on time. We received a good and warm welcome and the trip was really comfortable, although no food or drinks were offered. It wasn’t very crowded but mostly because of the season, too early in the summer.
A guide was included in the price. The explanations which were only in English, were very clear and all of our questions were answered. It was a really well organized tour, and everybody, including the drivers and guides were really polite and professional.
I liked it as a tour because I saw many things, such as markets, houses, custom house, e.t.c. The thing I was most impressed about was the “trident” house, the lions, and the lack of restoration which in my opinion shows authenticity.
The tour took us 4 hours, and the guided tour time 1 ˝ hour.
I have been to similar tours in other countries during previous holidays and if I had to rate this one in comparison with the others, I would have to say 7/10. About the organization and quality, I would say 6/10 and about the interest of the tour 7/10 because there was a lot of repetition between the tour and the guide book. I don’t think this tour would interest children or people of the third age.
My opinion about this tour is that it is an oriented “staged” excursion and the money is reasonable.
But beyond all these I saw new things and experienced another way of life.
