Araxame in Mykonos
Araxame Cafe is located in the charming square of Ano Mera. A traditional coffee shop, Araxame is quite popular with both locals and visitors and offers a variety of homemade delicacies. Many people stop by in this cafeteria to relax on the tiny cobblestone terrace with its white tables and chairs and enjoy a cup of strong Greek coffee. Araxame has a fully stocked bar, too. Irene Stavrakopoulou is the owner of Araxame and makes all her special Anatolian sweets from original recipes handed down to her by her mother Maria who ran the cafe before. Araxame is known for its pastries and traditional desserts, which are popular with both locals and visitors of all nationalities. Most popular sweets include samali, baklava, ekmek, loukoumades and kataifi, as well as some spoon sweets and ice cream. The shop is open all day long and year round. The locals also frequent the place to enjoy a glass of ouzo and Greek mezedes.
