 The residents of Milos Cyclades have risen against the nautical company GA Ferries that helds itineraries to their island.
As they mention in a letter sent to the Greel Minister of Marine Merchantise, this company "contributes to the economical and social destruction of their island" as the itineraries of the scheduled trip Piraeus- Milos- Santorini- Heraklion- Kasos- Karpathos- Rhodes is rarely organized, creating several problems to the permanent inhabitants and tourists.
Note that tourism is the main income of Milos, so bad schedules and insufficient service by GA ferries threatens the island. The inhabitants asked that this ferry line will be served by ANEK lines, like a few months ago. Otherwise, from May 1st, they will not allow GA ferries to approach their island.
The same problem was expressed by the inhabitants and professional associations of Kasos island, between Karpathos and Crete, which is unsufficient connected to Crete for six months now.
