Villages: Triovassalos village in Milos |
Triovassalos Village Milos: On the descent from the hill from Adamas and just before reaching Plaka, one can find two villages of Triovassalos and Pera Triovassalos; those two villages are merged into one wich is now experiencing a considerable commercial development. They took their names after their founder, Andreas Vassalos.
Both follow the traditional architecture of the Cycladic islands and are highly populated. In Triovassalos the interesting church of Agios Spyridon has been unified with the church of Agia Marina.
A large number of shops, cafes, bar and rooms for rent can be found in both villages.
On Easter Sunday, a traditional feast takes place in those two villages: the burning of the effigy of Judas. |
