 The Folklore Museum of Milos Greece, Cyclades: The History and Folklore Museum of Milos is housed in a 200-year-old house that is located in the courtyard of the church of Panagia Korfiatissa, on a hill in Plaka. This small museum has few rooms but interesting exhibits that depict daily life on Milos island from the 17th century till few decades ago.
This folk museum was established in 1967 by the Union of Athenian Miloans and exhibits pieces of daily life, including traditional costumes, agricultural tools, handloom, kitchen utensils and old furniture. The rooms have been especially designed to present the bedroom, the kitchen and the cellar used to store the farm produce. The attic has been transformed into a historical records office. |
