General information

Kastanas Beach in Milos is a secluded shore located on the island's east coast! It is surrounded by unique rocks of red, orange and yellow colors that can be explained by their volcanic nature, while the turquoise waters are crystal-clear and unspoiled. The beach is covered in pebbles, and the seabed is fairly rocky, so water shoes might be ideal. On the other hand, Kastanas is perfect for snorkeling, as it showcases a wide variety of marine flora and fauna species.

The beach is not organized, so guests will not find any umbrellas, sunbeds, or other facilities. Access is quite difficult, meaning that often no other visitors will be present, providing a serene setting for relaxation. Kastanas can be reached either by dirt road, which is however steep and difficult to navigate, or by boat.

    Colourful and clear
Kastanas was one of my favourite beaches. There are several reasons:
    - So colourful! As you can see on my photos, pebbles are of million colours and shapes and I couldn't stop looking at them.
    - Peaceful, with almost no people.
    - Clean and clear water.
    - Unbelievable seabed! We couldn't stop snorkelling! We saw literally tens of types of fish! Big small, tigers, leopards, fluorescent... It was magnificent!

Bad side - well, pebbles. You need some rubber or other sandals/shoes which you'll wear boat outside and inside. And we could not set up the tent, so it was super-hot and without shade.
