Glaronisia (which translates into "seagull islands") is a remote islet complex featuring stunning formations, said to have formed due to volcanic activity that occurred approximately 700 thousand years ago! The islet complex, filled with large pentagonal or hexagonal columns, is permanently inhabited by seagull birds, hence the origin of the name.

Plus, you can dip into the gorgeous crystal-clear turquoise sea, but be mindful of the sharp rocks.

    The most impressive after Kleftiko
Glaronissia was the second thing that left me speechless on our boat tour around the island. First was Kleftiko.
You have to experience it live! When you get close to those islets, you will remain speechless because of their crazy formation. Absolutely stunning!
I'm only sad for not being able to see seagulls for a complete impression, but I know it was not their season.
