Many old churches are found in Kimolos which were constructed in the 16th and 18th centuries.

The churches of Panagia Evangelistria, Agios Taxiarchis, Agios Ioannis Chrisostomos Timios Stavros, Agios Spyridon and Panagia Ikonomou are the most famous.

The church of Taxiarhis built in 1670 and Agios Ioannis Chrisostomos built in 1860 depict the Byzantine style.

You get to see some of the most impressive ancient churches in Chorio village, the capital of Kimolos.

Inside the walls of the Castle, you will also find the lovely chapel of Agia Methodia.

The cathedral church of Panagia Evangelistria was built in 1614 just outside the northern walls of the Castle, in Chorio. This church draws the maximum number of visitors.
