The traditional architecture of Kimolos can be traced back to its rich history. A visit to Chorio, the capital of the island, depicts the typical Cycladic architecture with whitewashed, stone houses.

The same goes for the ruined Venetian Castle in Chorio located at the highest point in the island. This fortified castle was built by Marco Sanudo in the 16th century and is a vivid example of the wonderful Cycladic architecture.

All the alleyways in Chorio are paved and cobbled.
Mount Paleokastro, the hightest point on the island, has outlines of prehistoric Cyclopean walls made of huge stones.
