Kea Otzias

General information

Otzias Village Kea: Otzias is a small village in the north area of Kea, 10 km far from Ioulida - the capital. It counts on just 80 permanent residents, and it has an enclosed picturesque bay with a few houses that are ideal for spending some peaceful and relaxing days.

The best way of getting to Otzias is by following the road from Ioulida via Korissia and Vourkari. After a turn on this road, you can see the sea again; there lies the beach of Otzias.

The beach is another plus for the village since it is preferred by many families with children. Its waters are shallow and safe, in spite of being affected by the Meltemia winds every now and then. The opposite road leads to the only restaurant in Otzias, which offers a great view and is known as one of the best fish restaurants in Kea.

Another good feature of this village is its great walking paths, ideal for strolling around. Easily accessed small churches are among the regional places of interest. In addition, the beach boasts some ruins of harbor facilities since it used to be a port itself in ancient times.

Regarding the establishments of Otzias village, apart from the mentioned restaurant, some accommodation options are also available. If you have a vehicle, driving a mile beyond the coastal line will lead you to some mines called Tripospilles, a few kilometers after which lies the infamous monastery of Panagia Kastriani.
