Iraklia Festivals, Greece: Information about the Festivals of Iraklia, Cyclades

 
There are some festivals in Iraklia, mostly religious festivals, that take place all year round.

The greatest religious festival is the celebration of Virgin Mary on August 15th, that takes place in the chapel of Virgin Mary in Panagia village.

A holy mass is held in the morning and then food and drink is offered to visitors.
 
Another religious celebration takes place on the name day of Saint George, on April 23rd, with a holy mass in the chapel of Saint George close to the port.

On November 8th, the name day of Saint Taxiarches is celebrated and on November 9th, the name day of Saint Nektarios, in the chapels of the saints outside Panagia village, on the southern side of the island.
 
Another important feast in the name day of Saint John, on August 29th. On the eve of this festival, a holy mass is held in the cave of Saint John, on the south of Panagia village.
