The most important church in Iraklia is the church of Agios Georgios (Saint George), close to the port, that game its name to the village.
This church celebrates every year on April 23rd and there is a festival held by the locals to honour their saint.
Another important church is the church of Virgin Mary in Panagia village. This church is dedicated to the Entry of Virgin Mary in the temple. There is a large festival dedicated to Virgin Mary every year on August 15th. |

The chapel of Prophet Elijah is also a nice church, situated on the highest peak of Iraklia. You can go there folowing a trekking path from Panagia village. |
