Although the island of Folegandros is quiet and peaceful with no sign of Mass Tourism, there are a few cozy bars that provide tons of entertainment. There is also a discotheque where one can enjoy dancing to pulsating contemporary music.There are also places that one can enjoy the sounds of traditional Greek music.
Night life in Folegandros isn’t all that sophisticated compared to other Greek islands, but still there are sufficient things to attract the attention of the visitors. With dusk descending on the island, the bars come alive and the quaint squares and alleyways are full of people, both locals as well as visitors from abroad enjoying a star-studded night sky.
The neighborhood of Hora is where all the excitement is. People flock to the various restaurants and taverns that offer the very best of international cuisine, while the more energetic ones go on a leisure stroll along the city’s meandering streets and culminate their trip with a sip of the local “Rakomelo” drink in the city’s numerous squares.
In Karavostasi, which is ideally located by the sea, there are many cozy bars that offer the perfect ambience to enjoy some drinks with good company. In Ano Meria there are often spontaneous celebrations by local musicians in the evenings, which is a delightful way to spend an evening. |
