Aspropounta Lighthouse on Folegandros: The lighthouse of Aspropounta can be seen during a walk on Folegandros Island’s sheltered southwestern coast of Livadaki beach. The lighthouse is 58 meter above the sea level and has an 11-meter tall light. The 1919 model is visible from as far as 17 miles. The lighthouse has seen the growth of technology since the day it started operating in 1921. The lighthouse was lit by a wick, but it was later upgraded to a petroleum gas mechanism.
