The island of Folegandros is renowned for the Souroto white
cheese. Souroto cheese is world famous and is mostly used in salads. One can also try the hard Folegandriot cheese as a snack or even with wine.
Another popular item is the “Matsata” which is traditional pasta served either with cockerel or rabbit. Oven-baked chickpeas and capers are also worth savoring.
There is also “Karpouzenia”, a kind of sweet pie with a mixture of water-melon, honey and sesame seeds.
There is also “Pastelli”, a bar made of sesame and honey, which is worth trying.
