The materials used in constructing the church were assembled from the temple’s ruins. Exquisitely designed inscriptions and elegant statues can be seen in the interiors of the church. Even the courtyard walls are well decorated with elegant inscriptions.
The church of Panaghia is single-aisled and is conspicuous by its multi-domed basilica which in the past used to serve as the “katholiko”.
