donoussa Island

Donoussa is part of the Cyclades complex and is located between Naxos and Amorgos. This is a rather isolate island and has only a few permanent inhabitants. It doesn't receive many tourists, not even in high season, so it is perfect for some quiet and relaxing vacations. The villages of Donoussa are small and sparcely inhabited. The capital and main port of the island is Donoussa village, which retains its traditional Cycladic beauty. The other villages of the island are not far from each other but the roads that connect them is track.

Most beaches on Donoussa are quiet and isolate. They don't get crowded, not even in high season because the island doesn't receive many tourists. The best organized beach resort is found close to the port, with many hotels and rooms to rent to surround it. The rest of the beaches are remote and can be reached by a boat that makes the tour of the island. Roads on Donoussa are track and difficult to cross, even by motorbike.
