 Donoussa is a tiny island that bases most of its economy on agriculture and cattle breeding.
The most famous product of Donoussa is "axialomytzithra", a kind of hard cheese made by yogurt.
Local traditional dishes include patatato (braised meat with potatoes) and kavourmas (pork meat fried in fat).
Very popular is also rakomelo, a drink of raki mixed with honey. |
