Donousa celebrates a summer festival called "Donousa Festivities", organized jointly with Folegandros and Sikinos. The festival is part of the Isolario Cultural Project.
The festival is set up with the idea to establish a network of collaboration among the small islands of Cyclades, protect their cultural diversity and promote their development. |

The festival lasts for about two weeks, starting from 25 August to 5 September.
Cultural programs include theatre performances by amateur theatrical groups, treasure hunting, music concerts and shadow theatre performance. |

Apart from these cultural festivities, there are also other religious festivals on the island, such as the feast of the church of the Holy Cross, the protector of the island, on September 14th.
The feast of the Virgin Mary is also celebrated on August 15th with great solemnity. |
