Donoussa Kalotaritissa beach

Kalotaritissa Beach Donoussa: Kalotaritissa is a small cove on the northern side of Donoussa island. Not organized at all, Kalotaritissa is quite difficult to approach by car or motorbike, so you have to take the boat from Donoussa port that makes the tour of the island to go there. The nature around the beach is rocky and barren and too sparsely-populated.

Kalotaritissa is a very small country village in a secluded and charming location. There are three beaches, very close each to the other and all with wonderful water: Sapounochoma, Mesa Ammos and Trypiti. They are not crowded even in August: there you can enjoy real peace sharing the beach with only very few people... There are no umbrellas, but you can relax and have shadow in a good, traditional taverna, Mitsos, where - last but not least - the food is very good and prepared with local products. You can reach Kalotaritissa by foot from Stavros with a trekking of one hour and a half, which will give you the chance to admire fantastic landscapes and sea-views. It's really a worthwhile effort! Otherwise you can take the bus which leaves from Stavros and reach Kalotaritissa, passing through Kendro, Messaria and Mersini, and then come back to Stavros (about six times every day). The bus will allow you to have dinner in Kalotaritissa at the taverna, enjoying the peaceful, beautiful beaches until sunset and after...
