Donoussa is a tiny island of the Cyclades complex, between Amorgos and Naxos.
Obviously then, it has followed the architectural style of the other Cycladic islands.

Donoussa has small houses painted in white, with blue doors, windowcases and fences. Each house has a beautiful, flowered garden and the locals sit there to drink their coffee and relax in the afternoon.
The lovely chapels that are scattered around Donoussa are also usually small and white, with blue domes and doors. This is the traditional style of a Cycladic church, after all.
Such churches are the church of the Holy Cross, protector of the island, and the chapel of Saint Sophia in Mersini village. |

All over the island, you will also find many architectural remnants to depict the past of Donoussa, such as stone bridges and ruined, stone houses built in the 19th century. |
