Andros: Stenies Andros

Stenies Andros: Located about 4 km north west of Chora, Stenies is a small beautiful village with traditional architecture. Stone houses and paved streets are the main characteristics of this village, which is built on the slopes of a hill and it is surrounded by few green trees. Although it is close to the capital village, Stenies is not developed in tourism and keeps it authentic character.

In close distance, there are the two beaches of Gialia and Piso Gialia, with few hotels and taverns by the sea. An interesting sight to see in Stenies is the tower of Bisti-Mouvela, a three-storey building of the 17th century, and the church of Agios Georgios close to the tower, with a lovely fresco that dates from 1737.
