Andros: Achla Andros

Achla Beach Andros: One of the most beautiful and secluded beaches in Andros, Achla (or Ahla) is located on the eastern side of the island and about 10 km from Chora. This beach is bit difficult to reach, as the road is track for about 8 km, therefore you can go there by jeep or motorbike.

The shore has soft white pebbles and the water is crystal, with blue green colorings. A small river ends close to this beach, creating an impressive biotope with plane trees. On the rocks above Ahla, there is a small chapel of Agios Nikolaos as well as a lighthouse. The cove is well-protected, although summer winds may usually blow in the evenings. There are no tourist facilities on the beach, except for some few accommodation options in the area.
