Dodecanese. A paradise for trekkers and naturists, Anafi is among the least tourist developed islands of Greece. Chora, the capital of Anafi island, is perched on top of a steep cliff, reminding a lot the villages of Santorini. In fact, these two islands share the same volcanic background.
Chora is the only village of Anafi island and this is where most facilities are found. Most beaches are located on the southern side and they are accessible by boat or on foot. A great place for hiking, Anafi island has short distances and beautiful landscape. The most popular hiking trail is from the port to the Monastery of Zoodochos Pighi. Along this route, there are the most beautiful beaches of Anafi island, including Katsouni, Flamourou, Roukounas and Kleisidi. These sandy unorganized beaches are ideal to relax and get totally away from big crowds. |
