Anafi is a small island of Cyclades, situated on the south-eastern side of the complex. The myth says that Anafi (whose name in Greek means "this who emerged") was emerged from the bottom of the sea when the Argonauts threw a sead in the water.
This indicates that the island could habe been created with the eruption of the volcano of Santorini, in about 1600-1550 BC. |
