Katapola Village Amorgos: It is Amorgos central port, which welcomes its visitors with lovely white windmills, traditional blue and white Cycladic houses, narrow streets and its amazing Venetian castle. This unique sight is divided in three settlements called Katapola, Rahidi and Xilokeratidi.
Katapola occupies a large bay and is situated in the most verdant part of the island. Some ancient remains of the Cretan city of Minoa and a Mycenaean cemetery lie above the port. Being the main port, Katapola offers accommodations, restaurants, nice bars and cafes. In fact, Katapola and Aegialis are the two most developed spots of Amorgos. |
