General information

Kalotaritissa in Amorgos used to be a village but is nowadays more of a small settlement with numerous ruined and abandoned houses. Today, it has a permanent population of around 40 residents who are involved in agriculture and fishing.

The bay of Kalotaritissa is a frequent shelter for fishing boats and yachts that moor there. You can find numerous beaches close to Kalotaritissa which are mostly accessed on foot or by boat.

From Kalotaritissa Beach, you can pass by boat to Gramvousa Island, which is uninhabited and totally isolated. There is a religious festivity on July 26th in the wider region, where locals celebrate Agia Paraskevi with plenty of dancing, food and local drinks.
